Treatment and procedure

Injectable dermal fillers can be used to plump and define thin lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases, remove wrinkles and improve the appearance of recessed scars.

A thorough consultation will take place before any treatment will commence. Once you have decided to go ahead with your selected treatment and are completely happy with your consultation we can book you back in for your treatment.

Prior to the treatment, the area will be cleansed with an antibacterial agent. In addition to cleaning the skin, your aesthetician may administer a topical anesthetic to numb the area.The actual injections only take a few moments per site. The time of the entire procedure varies according to the number of injections required.

After treatment cooling is usually recommended to alleviate any discomfort or swelling caused from the injection. At this point, makeup can be carefully applied and you can get on with your normal daily activity. Your clinical aesthetician will advice you not to apply too much pressure on the sites that had been injected.

Homecare

Pre treatment

For 10-14 days, avoid medications that cause blood thinning or inhibit clotting, such as:Aspirin and any aspirin related product or blood thinners.

You should Take arnica tablets for 7 days prior to treatment to minimize risk of bruising.

Post treatment
Your aesthetician will give you a detailed your home care plan during your consultation and again after your treatment After treatment there can be swelling in the treated area, some redness and in some cases some bruising. These symptoms will resolve in about 7 days.

Be gentle with treated areas making sure not to apply too much pressure.

Do NOT massage treated areas for 48 hours.

Do NOT exercise for 24 hours after treatment.

Avoid excessive sun exposure, UV lamp exposure, tanning and cold outdoor activities until redness and swelling resolve.

Ice pack can be used for comfort and to reduce any swelling.

Take ibuprofen as needed for any discomfort.

Results vary from person to person. Additional treatments may be necessary to achieve the desired level of correction.Maintenance injections, generally within 4-6 months, will help sustain the desired level of correction.
