Treatment and procedure

As we age, We develop uneven pigmentation (age spots), fine lines ,wrinkles, and open pores fractional laser skin resurfacing will slow down and even reverse the visible signs of aging, removing the age spots and leaving the skin looking fresher and smoother with a more youthful appearance.

Our fractional skin resurfacing laser machine is a non-ablative laser it creates very small controlled islands of heat damage surrounded by healthy normal skin. Forcing the body to repair this controlled damage, collagen is replaced in these areas, the surface of the skin is renewed improving pigmentation and signs of aging leaving the skin fresh and smooth.

A course of at least four treatments is recommended for best results. A topical anesthetic cream will be applied to the skin before treatment begins, this will then be removed and your skin cleansed. The treatment itself will take anything from 15minutes to 45 minutes to complete depending on the size of the area to treat. After the anesthetic has worn off your skin in the treated area may feel uncomfortable for a few hours with a slight feeling like sunburn. Slight redness will be seen directly after treatment this will subside within a few hours to a few days, slight swelling may last up to 24 hours after the treatment.

Homecare

Pre treatment
No sunbathing or use of sun beds or self-tanning products for at least 4 weeks prior to treatment.

Your aesthetician will advise you on any additional information on what to do or what to expect from your treatment during your consultation process.

Post treatment
Avoid sun exposure or sun beds
Wear a physical sunscreen SPF 30+
Wear Aloe Vera gel to soothe the treated area

Over the next 24-48 hours:
No perfumed products of make up
No excessive heat e.g. saunas, steam rooms or hot baths
No swimming or gym
No touching, picking or scratching the area
Avoid exfoliation
